Medicine Cabinet Configurations
Non-Lighted Medicine Cabinets
Mirrored storage without integrated lighting. Start with the cabinet dimensions, usable shelf space and door layout, then coordinate the mirror with separate bathroom lighting.
Choose storage before electrical features
A non-lighted cabinet does not provide a built-in light source. It suits specifications where ceiling lights or wall sconces provide the illumination. Compare the usable internal depth and shelf positions, not only the outside mirror dimensions. Tall bottles and everyday toiletries can require different shelf spacing.
Separate non-lighted from non-electrical
No integrated light does not automatically mean every configuration is non-electrical. If you also request an outlet or a heated mirror, specify that separately and confirm the wiring requirements. For a completely non-electrical cabinet, state that no lighting, outlet or heated-pad function is required.
Confirm the mounting and door clearance
Choose surface, recessed or semi-recessed mounting to suit the wall construction. Supply a room elevation showing nearby taps, sconces and side walls. Confirm left or right hinge orientation and the space needed to open the door before approving the drawing.
